President Donald Trump said Thursday he won’t reverse his plan to ban U.S. oil imports from countries that do not comply with climate change standards.
In a news conference, the president said he won.
He reiterated his belief that the United States is not a nation that is dependent on foreign oil.
Trump said he has spoken to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson about the ban, which he said will make it easier for oil companies to import more U.C. Davis oil, and has asked him to review the order.
Trump also said he would look into the possibility of withdrawing U.N. climate action resolutions.
He made his remarks after a briefing with U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May and the head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Paulo Pinheiro.
